47% of young people do not usually use condoms during sex, reveals research

A survey carried out by DKT International raised an alarm about the health of young Brazilians, in which around 47% of those interviewed, between 14 and 24 years old, stated that they do not usually use condoms during sexual relations.
The survey interviewed more than 1.500 people across Brazil, and also revealed that 74,8% of participants have never been tested to find out whether or not they have the HIV virus and that 21,6% say they believe there is a cure for AIDS .
“We need to awaken young people’s reflection on the topic and we find this international festival a great opportunity to promote awareness, respect, tolerance and freedom. We want young people to be aware of the importance of personal care and sexual health, in addition to breaking the taboo that buying condoms is a man's thing and making buying a condom a natural thing for women too”, said the LATAM Marketing Manager from DKT International, owner of the Prudence brand, Francisco Angelo.
Francisco pointed to the increase in female empowerment in an important way for causes like this. “Girls are more 'empowered' and putting condoms in their bags. The participation of women on the condom brand's social networks, for example, has increased a lot and this helps combat the machismo still present there”, he analyzed.
To promote awareness of the use of condoms, Prudence Fest will be held for the first time in Brazil, a festival that is estimated to be attended by around 30 thousand people mixing music and information to combat the disease that will be promoted on December 1st, the World AIDS Day. Attractions such as Claudia Leitte, Ludmila, Kevinho, Maiara and Maraisa, Capital Inicial, JetLag and Felguk will perform at the event.
