6th Copadellas

This Sunday (27th) the final of the 6th Copadellas took place, a charity futsal tournament that broke the last edition's record, raising more than a ton of food for various institutions that provide assistance to needy people.

The women put on a show of ball and citizenship. The games took place without any disturbances, the enthusiastic fans kept the crowd going and the champion team was Jundi-Sampa (Maori Tribe). The highly contested final, full of emotion, was decided on penalties.

Initiatives like these are great, as in addition to making girls meet outside of clubs, they encourage sports and also help those in need. In a country like ours, it is essential that we do not forget that, despite our difficulties, there are still those who do not have the minimum to survive.

In an atmosphere of achieved goals, we look forward to the next Copadellas in 2009! Until then!
