The legendary David Bowie, one of the most revolutionary artists of the 20th century, died this Sunday, the 10th. He was 69 years old.
The information was released on the singer's social networks. "David Bowie died at peace today, surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer.
While many will share the pain of his loss, we ask that you respect the family's privacy during this time of mourning," the official statement said.
The director Duncan Jones, one of Bowie's two sons, also spoke out on Twitter.
"Very sad to say it's true. I'll be offline for a while. Love to everyone," he wrote.
The world will miss this chameleon who so often surprised us with his eccentric and innovative looks.
But we have no doubt about one thing: Bowie will live on through his vibrant songs and videos that influenced generations.
