Advertising agency gives up Nivea account after executive's homophobic comment

After Nivea rejected a campaign featuring a gay couple and one of the company's executives made a homophobic comment saying: “We don't work with gays at Nivea”, advertising agency FCB dropped their account.

According to the trade publication  Ad Age , who first reported the alleged homophobic comments, FCB CEO Carter Murray sent an internal memo to employees saying the agency will relinquish its global Nivea account when contracts expire at the end of the year. The memo reportedly does not address the alleged remark.
