Alexandre Nero talks about censorship of gay kisses on TV and criticizes politicians

Alexandre Nero will be in the second season of the series Filhos da Pátria, which premieres today (8), on the Globo network. As the series portrays political issues from the Vargas Era, some issues ended up crossing over into today's reality.

During an interview with F5, Nero spoke about celebrities who are coming out. “I thought we had evolved. That was the big scare! When these people, about four years ago, came out of the closet, or the sewer, and I saw that they were numerous and that they even elected people”.

Alexandre also criticized the fact that gay kisses cause so much astonishment in soap operas. “I didn't think that doing a play with nudity or having a gay kiss on television would have this reaction. I thought we had to discuss whether to marry a blender or not, and not about two men getting married. Where are we? What time machine did I get into?”

“Stupid people are dangerous. And the stupid ones who think they are intelligent are even more so. We have several examples there, in Brazilian politics. They put people’s lives at risk,” she concluded.
