Ambev recently fired an employee who made homophobic statements on a social network. The information is from Gay1.

The then brewery employee shared news on his personal profile about a same-sex couple who were prevented from renting a property in Rio. He commented in the post that he would do the same as the owner of the property did – he would not rent it to homosexuals, and that gays “are not even people, [they are] a cursed race”.

The post came to the attention of Ambev's internal diversity committee, which immediately fired the man and a position was published stating that it does not accept that “people lack respect or are prejudiced. This behavior is not tolerated by us. The employee is no longer part of the company.” The brand announced:

We reinforce that we will always support respect and all forms of love.
