At a cost of R$20, surgery that promises defined abs is the new sensation among men

An innovative technique has arrived in Brazil that promises to revolutionize the aesthetics market: it is a surgical procedure that promises to leave the abdomen defined, “tight”, without the need to spend hours at the gym.

Developed by Colombian plastic surgeon Alfredo Hoyos, the technique known as traditional liposculpture, high definition lipo, or HD lipo, consists of using the body's superficial fat, sculpting it into the shape of a muscle.

The procedure can be applied to the belly, thighs and back.

Recently arrived in Brazil, the surgery is recommended for those who are not very overweight, confirm said Brazilian surgeon Fernando Bianco, a specialist in the area. “The patient must have a fat percentage close to ideal. In fact, the thinner he is, the better the result will be,” Bianco told Veja.

The procedure lasts an average of two hours and is carried out using topical anesthesia. Using a vibrating cannula 1 to 2 millimeters thick, the doctor pierces the skin and aspirates small amounts of fat, carving grooves in the fatty tissue and creating a “fake visible muscle”.

The technique, however, is very expensive and is not accessible to the majority of the Brazilian public, with prices ranging between 15 and 000 reais.

WARNING: Specialist André Maranhão, from the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgeons warns that this procedure “is a delicate technique because of the proximity to the dermis”. So, perhaps, it is still better to invest in your diet and “pull iron” in 'cadimia.
