At 88, Queen Elizabeth II thinks “gay marriage is wonderful”

At the height of its 88 years, the Queen Elizabeth II is an advocate of the union of same-sex couples. At least that's what the actor guarantees Stephen Fry.

In an interview with the Jonathan Ross Show, the artist said that the queen celebrated when gay marriage was legalized in England and Wales, in 2013. And that she confided in people close to her the emotion of signing the document.

"When the Queen signed the royal approval for marriage equality, allowing homosexuals to marry, she sat down and said, 'Well, who would have thought 62 years ago, when I came to the throne, that I would be signing something like this? Isn't it wonderful? ?'".

Stephen, who recently married actor Elliot Spencer, stated that he did not witness the scene, but that the story is well founded. "I'm very proud to live in a country where the majority of opinion is in favor of marriage."
