After renovation, Bubu reopens doors with redesigned tracks

Bubu has reopened. But this time the closure did not involve City Hall. The break in activities was necessary to carry out renovations in the building where the club has been located for almost five years. Almost three weeks after closing its activities, on 21/12, the club reopened on Wednesday (7/1), with the Chic night, inaugurating the new upper dance floor. On Friday (9/1), the main track with the first Fun! of the year in a new layout.

As every renovation has complications and delays, with Bubu it was no different. The main dance floor, debuted on the night Fun!, under the command of DJ Paulo Agulhari, only opened at around 1:30 am. The line outside the club wrapped around the corner, announcing that the house was full. While the main dancefloor was not open, the public was accommodated between the VIP Dancefloor and the Lounge.

VIP track
No changes to the Lounge, the upper lane has been completely redesigned. With the ceiling painted white and new lighting, the track gained a more airy and clean appearance, super pleasant. Beautiful. The old wall where dozens of drinks bottles were displayed was painted black without the bottles. The cabin railings were also white and the bathrooms were changed. The sinks were replaced by square bowls, a large mirror and the urinals were closer together, inviting, you know?!

Main Floor
On the main track, the changes were even more sudden, but some of them were not yet completed. The railings that delimit the boxes lost their elevation towards the track and became straight, opening up more space for the public. The booth where the DJs and the lighting team are located left the floor and went higher, making the dance floor gain even more space. As a result, the public's contact with the DJ was lost. Goodbye to the "hello" and "goodbye", very common among the club's regular visitors and staff.

The two side stairs have changed sides and now have a curve in the middle of each of them, where the checkout line can be accommodated. The new model complicated traffic a little, however, at around 6am, the queue was moved to the walkway between the cashier and the counter, creating circulation difficulties. The cloakroom, which was previously located at the bathroom entrance on the right side, was redesigned and moved to the left side, next to the bathroom entrance, but it was not working. The bathroom on the main floor also got new sinks and the urinals were closer together. The entrance and exit corridor ended up being cramped, creating difficulty in entering and exiting. The floor was still awaiting completion.

Lighting
The main dance floor was darker than usual, but the club is still adjusting to the new lighting. The track gained new moving heads [light cannons] – now there are 22 – and the effect of the crossed lasers continued. LCD screens will still be installed.

Shows and Gogos
As the DJ booth is now suspended, the gogo boys were relocated to two practicables [a kind of small stage, little bigger than traditional "cheese"] in the middle of the dance floor, as it was just over a year ago. Without the stage for shows on Sundays, Silvetty Montilla starts to liven up the lively Sunday matinee nights from the Léia Bastos lounge, which has not been changed.

Check Out
Cashiers were kept in their previous locations and now receive cash and cards at all service positions. The infirmary, which remains close to the bathroom on the main track, will gain more space and comfort. However, it was not ready on Friday and service was provided in the cabins.

New prices
The club also changed its pricing policy. On Fridays, women now pay R$60 for a dry entry [without consumption], which has generated some complaints from regulars at the house. On Saturday, a night dedicated to women, the opposite happened. It's the kids who pay R$60.
