Apple launches iPhone 7 in red for campaign to combat HIV/AIDS

As usual since 2006, last Tuesday, the 21st, Apple presented new models of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus in red. The launch is a partnership between the company and the institution that fights HIV/AIDS, RED. “The introduction of this special edition iPhone in a beautiful red finish is our biggest (PRODUCT)RED offering since the beginning of our partnership with RED. We can't wait to get it into customers' hands,” said Tim Cook, Apple CEO and openly gay, at the product's presentation, according to The Verge. The partnership between Apple and RED began in 2006, when the iPod Nano gained a red model. Since then, the smartphone giant has manufactured limited editions of products in this color for sale. Part of the money raised from sales goes directly to the Global Fund. For 11 years, the project has raised R$130 million dollars, which are invested in combating the disease in sub-Saharan African countries. In Brazil, the red devices went on sale this Friday, the 24th, from 12:01 pm, Brasília time. Prices vary between R$3.899,00 and R$4.499,00.
