“I learn a lot from gays, even within my religion”, says Joelma

In a recent interview with YouTuber Matheus Mazzafera, singer Joelma once again spoke about her relationship with gays, after controversial statements made by her, who was accused of homophobia. “Firstly, I love it with passion. I have many friends, I have fan clubs, I have people I admire, you know? Even within religion”, replied the singer after being questioned by Matheus. “People think that because I’m an evangelical there has to be this rivalry,” she explained. “On the contrary, my love. It's the opposite. If I am Christian as I say I am, I have to love and respect and never judge. Because that's not our role. It’s his role alone [pointing upwards]”, she continues. “And we learn a lot from each other, because his experience is not mine. Exchange is very cool. I learn a lot from gays, a lot. Even within my religion”, she concludes.
