Presenter Alec Baldwin calls photographer “faggot” and has program suspended in the USA

Alec Baldwin, 55, was involved in a disturbance on Sunday (17). The host of the program “Up Late with Alec Baldwin”, on the MSNBC channel, was caught arguing with a photographer and calling the professional a “fag”, a derogatory term to refer to homosexuals, something like “faggot”.

Baldwin's conduct resulted in a two-day suspension from his program, as his attack on the photographer was filmed, published by the website TMZ, and shared on social media.

Faced with the controversy, the presenter used his Facebook page to speak out on the subject. “I did not intend to hurt or offend anyone with my words, but clearly I did and for that, I am deeply sorry,” Baldwin wrote.

On the website TMZ, Ireland, the presenter's daughter, defended her father saying that under no circumstances could he be considered homophobic.

"My father is far from being homophobic or racist. Sometimes we let our tempers get the best of us. Tempers are like forest fires. Something or someone can easily fuel the fire," he said.
