Presenter of the newspaper “SBT Brasil” defends pastor Marcus Feliciano; see video

Rachel Sheherazade, presenter of the newspaper “SBT Brasil”, gave a speech in defense of deputy pastor Marcus Feliciano last Wednesday night (20).

The journalist showed a report showing a session of the Human Rights Commission led by Feliciano that was interrupted by protesters protesting. The deputy left the meeting after the group demonstrated.

At the end of the article, Rachel defended the pastor. “A man cannot be condemned for his beliefs, nor discriminated against because of them. It is a constitutional guarantee”, said the journalist.

According to her, freedom of expression gives Feliciano full rights to release his speeches, even if they are racist and homophobic.

“In a democracy, decisions are made through voting and not shouting. Like it or not, Marcus Feliciano was democratically elected. No matter how controversial his personal opinions may be, the pastor cannot be confused with the parliamentarian. Anyone who is not prepared for democracy should renounce it”, adds Rachel.
