Transgender people and Argentine journalism had a historic day this Monday (23).

Diana Zurco, 40, became the first trans woman to present a news program in the country. It debuted in prime time on Televisión Pública, Argentina's public TV channel.

“My presence challenges society”, he said in an interview with the news agency Associated Press.

“It’s an invitation to society that says, ‘This is me; Behind me there are more people like me who want to express themselves. We are capable, we can study, we can train, we can communicate to you what is happening in our country.”

Congratulations, Diana! Success!
