Actor, journalist and LGBT rights activist, Ari Areia (PSOL) will be the first openly gay state deputy in Ceará.

He will take the place of Renato Roseno, who leaves the position to run for mayor of Fortaleza for PSOL.

Areia is the party's first substitute in the Legislative Assembly of Ceará. He had 11.326 votes in the last elections, having been supported by Jean Wylles and artists such as Jesuíta Barbosa and Silvério Pereira.

“When the date for this replacement is set, I will let the Fundamentalist Bench know to start buying some headache medicine”, warned Areia on social media.
