Visual artist holds exhibition with collages of male nudes

Visual artist Claudio Montagna opens the exhibition "Liquid Life" this week in Rio de Janeiro. The main focus of the exhibition is paintings on canvas, interfering with collages of erotic photos. In the photos, naked men.

The exhibition is a retrospective of the artist's ten-year career. "The intention is to articulate the sculptural content, subverting the human figuration", explains Montagna. In his works, the naked male body appears subliminally, not explicitly, but a closer look is enough to reveal the silhouettes.

The main influences on Claudio's work are Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Francis Bacon, among others. The artist will be present at the exhibition on August 27th and September 10th, for guided visits with the public.
