More than one hundred LGBT organizations in the United Kingdom are concerned about the specific vulnerabilities of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender population to coronavirus. The information is Gay Times.

Second open letter from the National LGBT Cancer Network association, there are three particularities.

“The LGBTQ+ population uses tobacco at rates 50% higher than the rest of the population, and COVID-19 is a respiratory disease that has been proven to be particularly harmful to smokers”, points out the letter.

Another reason is the higher rate of HIV and cancer, precisely the diseases that compromise the immune systems.

The third and last is the frequent discrimination and misinformation from health professionals and institutions regarding LGBT health.

The letter argues that LGBT people, like everyone else, should receive dignified treatment.
