The couple Lucas Trindade, 24, and Caio Costa Souza, 19, claimed to have been attacked by a man armed with a stick with nails at the Capão Redondo Terminal, south of São Paulo, last weekend. The information is from G1.

According to the boys, the attack happened last Sunday morning (12), after they kissed while waiting for a bus. According to witnesses, the attacker works inside the terminal as a street vendor.

The report in the police report records that the man was offended by the couple's kiss, claiming that Lucas and Caio were disrespecting the other people in the queue, which started an argument between the two parties. The attacker left the scene making death threats. He then returned with the stick with nails and attacked Lucas in the abdomen.

After disarming the man and getting into a physical fight with him, which ended by terminal employees, the couple went in search of medical attention. Lucas' injuries were treated at a UPA (Emergency Care Unit) in the city of Embu das Artes, in Greater São Paulo.

This Monday (13), the case was registered as bodily injury and racial or color prejudice at Decradi (Police Station for the Repression of Racial Crimes and Intolerance Offenses), linked to the DHPP (Personal Protection Division of the Department State of Homicide and Personal Protection).

According to a 2019 resolution from the STF (Supreme Federal Court), LGBTphobia crimes can be covered by the racism crime law.
