Two months after the 21st edition of the São Paulo LGBT Pride Parade, which took place on June 18th, bringing millions of people to the streets of the capital of São Paulo, APOGLBT, the association responsible for organizing the event, announced the date and theme of the next gear. In an open meeting, it was determined that the 22nd edition of the Parade should take place on June 3, 2018, the year of elections for president, as well as deputies, governors and senators. Therefore, the focus of the Parade will be politics, or rather, the importance of electing politicians who support diversity. The slogan has not yet been defined, however, everyone present at the meeting held on the 26th welcomed the theme, as they considered it important to promote the LGBT agenda in the political sphere. The Organization reported that it intends to initiate actions in the months leading up to the march, in order to deepen the discussion with politicians who support and defend the rights of minorities.
