After spending much of his life in the closet and even claiming in an interview that he was heterosexual, actor Haaz Sleiman admitted, through a video published on his Instagram profile, that he is gay. The artist's statement comes a week after a report released by entities, which points out that until July 2017, more gays were killed in the United States than in the 12 months of 2016. “A new study showed that more LGBTQ people living in in the USA so far there have been more deaths than in the whole of 2016”, he says. “So this video is a response to this survey: I am a gay, Muslim, Arab-American man. I'll go even further – not only am I gay, I'm passive. I’m not just passive, I’m 100% passive, which means I like that you know where,” he says. “If you come to kill me just because I'm gay, I will destroy you. I may be gay and I may be a good guy, but don't fool yourself because I'm going to screw you.” Sleiman has already acted in successful series, such as Nurse Jackie (2009) and the film The Visitor (2007). His last role was in the biblical production Of Kings and Prophets.
