The transgender actress She Xora, in a video recently published on the website Pink News, tore up the employment contract he had with JK Rowling – or, more precisely, with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park, in Orlando, Florida, derived from the British writer's literary series.
The protest comes after statements Rowling made on Twitter, which have been considered transphobic and caused outrage among fans and even actors who worked on adaptations of Harry Potter for the cinema.
“People like JK Rowling feel that femininity is their own category, that it is something that is only theirs and that being a woman, biologically, is the only shade of pink [possible],” he said.
In a scathing speech against the writer, Xora stated that she “does not need” to work for those who “discriminate” against her. “I’ve had enough persecution from members of my family, and also from the religion I was born into, which has been non-stop.”
