Chicago gay bars want to ban bachelorette parties

Owners of gay bars in the city of Chicago, USA, are causing some revolt among heterosexual women in the region, as they want to ban them from celebrating their bachelorette parties in their establishments.

For the owner of the Cocktail bar, on the north side of Chicago, the reason for the ban would be the 'mess' they make and, as a result, the most loyal customers felt embarrassed. "Some of them are very loud and aggressive, others are cool," said Geno Zaharakis, owner of the establishment, to the 'Chicago Tribune'.

Geno also claims that the party could sound like a provocation to gays, who are not allowed to marry in the USA. "The [bachelorette] celebration can also be an affront to many homosexual couples who would like to get married," he said.

In the USA, it is common for women to gather in GLS bars to celebrate their last days of being single, before the wedding, with their friends.
