The actor Billy Porter, the first openly gay black man to win the Emmy for best actor in a drama series for pose (FX), made history by being on the cover of the magazine Gasoline, a publication aimed at black American women, also for being the first gay man to occupy this space.
Also a Tony winner for the theater musical Kinky Boots, rocks the July and August edition of Gasoline, which features a profile about him, in which the multi-talented artist talks about the racism that black LGBT people face in addition to LGBTphobia and, of course, masculinity, the stereotypes of which Porter is always willing to break.
“Our transgender women are dying at our own hands. We cannot ask for anything that we are not ready to give. It starts with us,” she said.
