Biography of activist Luísa Marilac is on pre-sale; check out!

Luísa Marilac was born in Minas Gerais and came out as a transvestite at the age of 17. In addition to the traditional traumas associated with gender transition in a conservative, lower-class family, she was stabbed seven times at the age of 16, was a victim of sex trafficking in Europe, became prostituted, was raped and arrested more than once. She rose to fame after a video of her with the catchphrase “And they said I was in trouble” went viral on YouTube.

In a story of overcoming, she transformed pain into energy to fight to change the world for women who were born like her – with a “piece of steak between their legs”, as she often jokes. An activist for transvestites, she works to combat prejudice with humor and frank dialogue.
With Nana Queiroz, he creates a visceral and poetic account of his trajectory, dedicated “to all the transvestites who never lived to tell their stories”.
