Bolsonaro says in video of ministers' meeting: 'They will condemn me for homophobia'

The president Jair Bolsonaro (no party) stated in a meeting with ministers that he was certain that, in a hypothetical scenario in which the left is elected to the Presidency after his administration, he will be “convicted of homophobia”.

“Me and a bunch of you here have to leave Brazil, because you’re going to be arrested. And I’m sure they will sentence me for homophobia, eight years for homophobia,” she said.

Bolsonaro made the comment on April 22, during a ministerial meeting – in which other topics were also discussed – recorded on video.

The record was released this week by Celso de Mello, minister of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) and is part of the investigation that investigates accusations made by Sergio Moro, former Minister of Justice and Public Security, that the president acted to interfere in Federal Police operations with the aim of protecting the Bolsonaro family.
