The federal government ended the Department of STIs, AIDS and Viral Hepatitis, which was a global reference in the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and especially AIDS.
Now the department will be called the Department of Chronic Conditions and Sexually Transmitted Infections, and will have diseases such as leprosy and tuberculosis to be taken care of along with strategies against HIV and sexually transmitted diseases.
This caused many NGOs fighting the HIV virus to criticize the government's attitude, but the health body stated that the new policy will not affect share investment.
