The Argentine police recently unmasked a group of Brazilians who pretended to be doctors in a hospital in the province of Buenos Aires, using false documents from other Brazilian health professionals who were not aware of the fact. Among them, a homosexual, married to a police officer, who, in addition to pretending to be a doctor, also worked as a model. After the case came to light, Felipe Nori Haggi Lacerda, 27, deleted his profiles on social networks such as Facebook and Instagram. According to information from the Argentine newspaper La Nacion, for nine months, Lacerca pretended to be a doctor, graduated from the University of Marón, where he is enrolled as a student. Using the identity, registration and diploma of another doctor, also Brazilian, he managed to get the hospital to hire him in August last year to cover clinical shifts. Still according to La Nacion, Felipe earned R$114 per month. The hoax came to light in April this year, when the fake doctor, born in Batatais, in the interior of São Paulo, began the procedures to marry her boyfriend, a police officer. However, on the birth certificate given to the hospital, her name was changed to match the identity she used. When asked to present the original documents, he left the hospital and never returned.

Due to Felipe's act of bad faith, his boyfriend, Leandro Alberto Acevedo, ended up bearing the consequences and was removed from his position in the Argentine police. In addition to Felipe, it was discovered that a woman, named Thais Soares Costa, also worked as a doctor at the same hospital, using the identity of another Brazilian. These cases led to the termination of the contracts of four other Brazilian doctors, who had not presented “the corresponding documentation”, the hospital said in a statement. Felipe and Thais will be charged with using a false identity, fraud, forgery of public documents, illegal practice of medicine and usurpation of titles and honors, according to the AFP news agency.
