Brasília, Campinas, Curitiba and Fortaleza; Find out how the weekend's stops went here

In Brasília, the 29th LGBT Pride Parade took place on Sunday (06/11) in Asa Sul, an upscale neighborhood of the city. The organization of the event counted 35 thousand people, but the Military Police made a counterpoint and said that 22 thousand people passed through. Those responsible for the event decided to pay homage to sergeants Fernando Alcântara Figueiredo, who was at the stop, and his companion, Laci Marinho de Araújo, in prison on charges of desertion.

For those who don't remember, Fernando and Laci are the sergeants who came out as homosexuals and have been in a relationship for years. Laci was arrested during the SuperPop program, later Fernando would also be arrested accused of misconduct. Both sergeants accused the army of persecution and homophobia. Because of this, most of those present at the Brasília gay parade were wearing camouflage clothing, a way they found to demonstrate against the army's attitude.

In Curitiba, the third edition of the Diversity Parade brought together around 120 thousand people and also paid tribute to gay soldiers. The starting point of the march began at the Civic Center and its conclusion included shows at Praça Nossa Senhora Salete. The gathering began at 13pm, at Largo da Ordem, then continued along Avenida Cândido de Abreu with electric trios. The rain dispersed the people, who gathered again as soon as the water stopped falling. On stage there were shows by Baby Lee, a rock band made up of girls. Another to perform was Mateus Lima. After the musical shows, it was time for famous drag queens of the night to perform.

Fortaleza held its 9th edition of the Ceará Parade for Sexual Diversity with approximately 500 thousand people. The demonstration is also the third largest in Brazil. However, the organizers decided to opt for another model this year, instead of the common trio-electrics, there were tents scattered along the Avenida Beira Mar promenade that offered cultural presentations, workshops, shows and services.

The eighth edition of the Campinas Parade brought together around 80 thousand people, according to the organization. The main theme of the party was the demand for the approval of PLC 122 and how people can pressure Congress to approve it. Rodrigo Rosa, one of the organizers, said that the visibility phase has passed and now we are entering the equal rights phase.
