She lives in Vancouver, Canada, and is 33 years old. Bren Ryder, creator of the website GoodDykePorn, has worked as a firefighter, showing that she has a lot of courage to face challenges. In an exclusive interview to Dykerama.com, Bren Ryder talks about this drastic professional change and how his love for cinema and pornography gave a new concept to the art of portraying sex on screen. To promote GoodDykePorn and expand the scope of her work, the tireless Bren compiled the best videos she produced into a short film of the same name, which has already been toured several film festivals, showing that lesbian pornography has no limits. Can you tell me a little about yourself? Are you married, single?
I am an independent filmmaker. I even attended film school to follow my passion for the field, but I put that aside when I started training and achieving a “respectable” career as a firefighter. After achieving this goal, I chose to return to filming and directly contribute to the creation of lesbian pornography. With the exception of a few exceptional collaborators, models and staff, I run this business alone, learning new roles every day and doing the best I can to accurately represent my community and create images that are both attractive and accessible to the vast majority of people. people.
Why and how did you start producing lesbian porn videos?
In the summer of 2006 I decided to stop reflecting on the terrible quality of lesbian pornography and start thinking about something on my own. I aborted all attempts in my “respectable” career and began to create images of women that do not currently exist and contradict all standards of female sexuality. After a year of work, we went live in August 2007.
Who is your audience? How many people access your website?
The audience is female, men and everyone in between. The number of people accessing the site is still small, but it is definitely growing.
Are the actresses who appear in your films lesbians?
Some identify as lesbians. Just like the producer, director, actor, owner and editor, I am a lesbian. Other models appearing on the site identify as bisexual, gay, and FTM (female to male) transgender.
You believe that your videos are different from anything else on the market. How do you think they stand out from the rest?
Thank you for the wonderful compliment. In my opinion, what makes these videos different is their authenticity. The models choose what the scene should look like. What really excites them is what's in the film I'm going to produce. And that is a difference.
Can you tell me a little about the film “Good Dyke Porn”? As far as I know, the website originated from the film, right?
The film “Good Dyke Porn” is a compilation of videos produced in the first few months for the site. It has two scenes from the site that have been edited to show a summary of our beginnings in creating quality lesbian porn. The film was created before, however, the website was developed at the same time with the intention of showing an extended version of the scenes and many other things on the website. “Good Dyke Porn” has already been screened at festivals in Vancouver and British Columbia; Michigan Women’s Music Festival; Lisbon, Portugal; Rochester, New York; and is yet to be shown in Berlin, Germany; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and hopefully many more festivals.
What is the most competitive market in the world when it comes to pornography?
I don't know. I try to contribute to “dyke” pornography, which currently has little representation. This differs from what is currently considered “lesbian” pornography, which can be found on thousands of websites. I view “dyke” porn as non-competitive. Everyone who contributes to creating images of real women and transgender people having sex in an authentic way will be guaranteed an audience, because there are few such images. More and more women need to pick up a camera and create images of themselves to share with the world.
What does the lesbian community consume in your country? Are they good consumers?
Apparently, male pornography is popular among lesbians. Very few women watch “lesbian porn” and look for alternative sexual images. My hope is to attract the attention of pornography consumers who perceive the low quality of pornography productions, as well as non-consumers who assume that all pornography is based on their initial exposure to pornography.
Have you ever watched a Brazilian porn film?
I'm sorry, but I've never watched a Brazilian porn film.
Who are your favorite porn actresses?
My favorite porn stars are those anonymous women who bravely display their sexuality for their own pleasure and the positive impact it will have on pornography itself.
