Actor Caio Castro, who plays Antenor in "Fina Estampa", is the interviewee for the edition of "Quem" magazine which hits newsstands this Wednesday (23).

To talk about his reputation as a catcher and a possible romance with his co-star Monique Alfradique, the actor gave the following statement: "I don't think I'm a catcher. But I'll tell you one thing too, if you don't have a reputation as a catcher and you are If you're single, you get a reputation as a deer. So, better than a deer, right? They talk so much, people are very curious," Caio told the publication.

Carlos Tufvesson, director of Rio's Sexual Diversity Coordination, was outraged by the actor's statement and posted on his Twitter: "In Globo's acting workshops there should be a class on how not to say stupid things to the press. Each mind is free to express your IQ. But the day I stop being indignant I will no longer be fighting!" Tufvesson posted on the microblog.

Actress Lúcia Veríssimo also posted about the controversial statement. "Sad! It's a shame that the representative of a class, which should set an example for a society clean of prejudices, acts like this."

Caio Castro is 22 years old and has had a quick career at Globo. He was discovered in 2008 in a "Caldeirão do Huck" competition, which led to him winning a prominent role in "Malhação". In 2010 he was successful in "Ti Ti Ti" and now makes his debut in prime time.
