As many people may be aware, the Book Biennial in Rio de Janeiro has just started. The event runs from September 01st to 11th, at Riocentro.
I have a single "biennial" book. DOMINAÇÃO has never participated in any, while CAMA KING SIZE was launched at the São Paulo Biennial, which took place last year. Once again, he is the one participating in the edition in Rio de Janeiro.
It's really cool to have a book in any biennial. Even more so for me, a "cursed" writer, always grappling with prejudice and fighting to bring a somewhat new genre onto the market. In fact, I think this novelty is closely linked to the issue of prejudice. Nobody really believes that the market, and also the media, will absorb works containing homoerotic themes, especially with scenes that can be classified as good porn. Then no one is encouraged to produce and a vicious cycle is formed. It's difficult for anyone who has the courage to assume that pornography can be art and can be found in good literature. This has been my battle.
Fortunately, I found a strong ally, no pun intended. Jô Soares stated on his program that it is mere prejudice to say that literature must necessarily be disconnected from pornography.
