Bahia Gay Group campaign uses superheroes to combat homophobia

In 2001, the Grupo Gay da Bahia distributed posters throughout the city of Salvador illustrated with drawings by cartoonist Hector Salla. The work reinterpreted classic comic book characters from Marvel and DC Comics. Now, the images are on the internet, on GGB website, and can be shared to send a message against homophobia.

The phrase printed on the posters warns: "prejudice against homosexuals is a crime against humanity. We are watching." The gay versions of the heroes gained more delicate contours, as in the case of the incredible Hulk, who appears with nipple piercings, blond hair and holding a flower.

In another poster, a black Wonder Woman appears with her lasso of truth. The most mysterious duo could not be missing, in terms of sexuality, of course, Batman and Rodin hugged and beyond happy. In the campaign, Superman gets a Brazilian and gay version: he appears in a pink lycra outfit, with a beard, earrings in his ears and a G on his chest. However, the one who let loose the most during the GGB campaign was the fastest man in the world, Flash, in a super-hot version. Mara!
