Virtual campaign crowdfunds to finance LGBT film that talks about serodiscordant relationships

A virtual campaign carried out on Catarse, a crowdfunding website, aims to gather contributions for the production of an LGBT film that addresses a topic that is still considered taboo in society: a serodiscordant relationship – when one of the parties is HIV positive.

Created by São Paulo filmmaker, Diego Oliveira, the short film, which still has no release date, seeks financial help and support from companies that want to sponsor and support the project.

The film tells the story of Arthur and Rafael, a gay couple whose relationship is interrupted due to suspicion of betrayal. One of them discovers that he may be a carrier of the agent that causes AIDS and becomes apprehensive about this situation. Single, he begins to lead a festive life, filled with lots of sex. The other attempts a rapprochement with the help of a mutual friend of the couple.

Arthur, who was enjoying his single life, takes the serological test, but is afraid of knowing the result. In the meantime, the two meet again and attempt a romantic rapprochement.

For anyone who can contribute to the project, Just click here and you will be redirected to the Catarse website. Furthermore, the filmmaker seeks partnerships with stores that want to lend costumes to be worn by the characters.

Recording began in March and the release is scheduled to take place between September and December 2018, with free sessions and registration at festivals throughout the year.
