Presidential candidate, Ciro Gomes, places LGBT citizenship among his government's objectives

Last Friday, the 20th, the PDT announced Ciro Gomes as the party's candidate for president of the Republic.

Among the commitments made by Ciro Gomes for his government, if elected, the candidate included LGBT citizenship in his campaign document released to the press, entitled “12 steps to Change Brazil”, which contains his proposals for the rainbow community .

In item 10, called “Respect all Brazilians”, the document says: “The groups that will be covered in our affirmative policies are women, black people, LGBTI communities and people with disabilities”.

"We will give effect to the National Plan for the Promotion of LGBT Citizenship and Human Rights; create ways to curb or prevent LGBTIphobic crimes; include the fight against all forms of prejudice, be it based on race, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation and/or gender identity in the National Education Plan; articulate and support the approval of the Family Statute and the Diversity Statute; guarantee and expand the supply of treatments and health services to meet the special needs of the LGBT population in the SUS and its specificities, and encourage the approval of Bills currently in progress that aim to equate equal civil marriage, as well as the Law on Gender Identity, among other measures“, says another paragraph of the document.

Always remembering that, for us LGBTs, the result of this year's elections will be decisive for our community and the guarantee of our rights. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to all candidates and support the one who is committed to a fair and equal government and, just as important, who does not propagate homophobia and torture of young LGBT people, like Jair Bolsonaro, for example.

As a website aimed at the LGBT public, A Capa refuses to support Bolsonaro!
