The candidate for PT councilor in São Paulo, William De Lucca (13000), received new public death threats over the internet. In a post on Twitter, where he appears in a photo eating a pastry, some internet users made clear their criminal intentions towards the LGBT activist. De Lucca will prosecute the attackers.
In the caption of the photo, De Lucca says “Learn how to eat market pastries, right-wing comrade”, followed by a heart symbol. The reaction of some was angry.
Among the phrases published by the indignant are excerpts such as “Without a chance, in the first blow the HIV-positive person falls dead”, written by Tárcio Basileu (@Tarcio Basileu), or “sometimes I want Islam to take over just to see this bitch being thrown off a building”, written by Fernando FL (@Foralula).
De Lucca recalled that during his life he has received attacks, whether due to his sexual orientation or political positioning in defense of freedom of expression and people excluded by society. “I will seek justice so that those responsible are punished,” she said.
The candidate has a long history of activism. In addition to defending LGBT causes, in his campaign he has made proposals for Education to address gender diversity as a way of combating prejudice, by serving the homeless population, caring for animals, valuing organic planting and food, among other themes.
