The funk singer and lawyer Amanda Versus reported having been a victim of homophobia last Monday night (2) in Belo Horizonte. The information is from G1.

She said she gave her girlfriend a back massage, who was complaining of pain, while the Uber trip was in progress.

“When I stopped giving the massage and let go of her hair, he came and said 'you can stop that. They can be on one side, I don't like that in my car,'” she said.

Versus reported that she asked the driver to stop the journey, and the two got out of the car. The singer then made a video on Instagram protesting what happened, but it was deleted by the social network. Versus then filed a police report and stated that he will continue the case in court.

“I don’t want to harm anyone, but I don’t want to be harmed either. What I don't accept is being humiliated and keeping quiet. We cannot be afraid to report it. Otherwise, they will continue to repress us,” she said.

Uber released a statement saying it does not tolerate any type of discrimination and that the driver in question has been removed.
