Bald? Only if you want! Discover the most modern treatment to say goodbye to baldness

Among the problems that most affect male vanity, baldness appears at the top of the ranking, alongside abdominal fat and ahead of wrinkles. Going bald for many can become a real drama.

Worry is not without its reasons. “A bald person usually looks five or ten years older than their real age,” says plastic surgeon Carlos Oscar Uebel, president of the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery and a specialist in baldness.

According to a study carried out by the doctor, in the last five years, there has been a 20% increase in the number of men under 30 who experience hair loss.

Age really is one of the main points of the issue. The decline generally begins at age 24. Around 80% of young people who experience hair loss between the ages of 24 and 26 have a genetic predisposition to the problem. If you reach 30 unscathed, it is very likely that you will only have baldness problems after the age of 50. “After the age of 50, 50% of men go bald and after the age of 80, 80%”, explains Dr. Carlos.

In addition to genetic inheritance, other factors that cause baldness are hormonal changes, emotional stress, seborrhea, and, of course, age. As you age, your hair thins and thins.

TRUTH!
The use of anabolic steroids and steroids can contribute to hair loss. These substances are associated with growth hormones and testosterone and can intensify baldness.

VISUAL
Let's agree that a complete bald head is more attractive than a partial one. So no more pulling the wires from one side to the other to try to hide the damage. Shave everything while you don't commit to the treatment. You can be sure it will be much better!

FOOD
A healthy diet is recommended, away from fried foods and processed foods. Hair is basically made up of keratin, which is a protein. To keep them healthy, it's a good idea to eat foods that provide protein sources.

A lack of iron, calcium, potassium and vitamin B6 can also contribute to hair loss. Counterattack with sources of these nutrients.

TREATMENT
The only oral treatment that has demonstrated effectiveness is Finasteride. A doctor should be consulted before using the product. But be careful! Between 2 and 3% of patients who use Finasteride experience a decrease in libido. “If this occurs, you should stop using it without any major problems, and your sexual appetite will return,” says Uebel.

TRANSPLANTS
In many cases, the condition is already very advanced and effective results only occur with surgical interventions. There is no recommended age for transplants, from the age of 20 they can be done.

The most modern baldness treatments are Hair Microtransplantation, with the stimulation of stem cells. The technique consists of transplanting hair roots from the nape of the neck – where the best genetic quality of hair is found – to the bald area through microincisions. These hair bulbs, rich in stem cells, carry the entire genetic load to the area that will receive the microtransplant, thus guaranteeing quality of growth and durability.

The technique allows the implantation of up to six thousand strands of hair and is performed using local anesthesia and sedation. The procedure takes around 3 hours. “The hair that was transplanted will grow like existing hair within a period of 12 to 16 weeks. This guarantees a very natural look and the certainty of a satisfactory result”, says Uebel.

PROFILE
Most men experience baldness due to genetic reasons. The most pronounced hair loss occurs between the ages of 24 and 26.
