Casa de Criadores launches “Out of Fashion Homophobia” competition

In partnership with Cads (Coordination of Sexual Diversity Affairs), from São Paulo City Hall, and ACGE (Culture Advisory for Genders and Ethnicities), from the state government's Department of Culture, Casa de Criadores launches the competition " Unfashionable Homophobia.”

The idea is to create an image (print or logo) inspired by the theme. Stylists, fashion students, graphic designers or other professionals can participate – just enjoy drawing. The 30 best works will be selected, which will be exhibited during the 29th Casa de Criadores, in June. Registration continues until May 25th.

At the event, fashion and cultural personalities will choose the image chosen as the symbol of the campaign. The winning proposal will be transformed into a t-shirt, sold throughout Brazil and the proceeds will go to the Center for Culture, Memory and Studies of Sexual Diversity in São Paulo. The first three places win a cash prize – the winner, in addition to pocketing R$2500, will be able to intern in the Cavalera style department.

“It was high time for the fashion world to do something about this,” says André Hidalgo, director of Casa dos Criadores, created in 1997 with the aim of revealing new talents in Brazilian fashion. "We are very happy. Nothing more natural than the biggest name-launching event in Brazilian fashion being the first to embrace such an important and relevant campaign."
