Gay couple sues homophobic group for using photo of their engagement

The homophobes didn't expect this. The group Public Advocate of the United States, who is against gay marriage and supports politicians with the same ideology, was sued on Wednesday (26) for improperly using the image of a gay couple in a campaign (photo).

Tom Privitere e Brian edwards, who are married and live in New Jersey, posed for their engagement photo in 2010 in front of the Brooklyn Bridge — and later tied the knot in a civil ceremony in Connecticut.

This year, however, his images were cropped and inserted into a new background, with a message against gay marriage by the Public Advocate – and used during the Colorado Republican congressional campaign.

Now, the gay couple and their photographer, Kristina Hill, are suing the homophobic entity for using a copyrighted image without authorization. "We want to take back the beautiful moment in our lives that was reflected in our engagement photo before it was stolen," Brian Edwards, 32, told NBC News.

Well done, right?
