Couple files for marriage annulment after discovering they are gay

Scott Turner-Smith and Jo Turner, who married in 2018 in the United Kingdom, filed for an annulment after coming out as gay. The first to tell friends and family was Scott, in a tweet made last month.

“I've written and deleted this tweet hundreds of times, but here goes: I'm gay. Those I had already told were wonderful, and for that I am even more grateful that they know. It feels like I'm freeing myself to be able to be my full self and I'm excited to find out what's next," Scott wrote.

Then Jo also decided to reveal it. “It was a joke that we signed the petition for nullity today: 'Consent invalid by mistake. Turns out we're both gay.' Enjoy, judge. The script will be released next year”, joked Jo on Twitter.
