Oscar Freire case: accused of killing model has preventive detention ordered

The São Paulo Court ordered preventive arrest of Lucas Rosseti, 21, main suspect of killing Eugênio Bozola, 52, and model Murilo Rezende, 21, in an apartment on Rua Oscar Freire. The information was confirmed by delegate Maurício Guimarães Soares, from the Homicide and Personal Protection Division (DHPP) of the Civil Police.

Rosseti was already in temporary prison. However, upon concluding the investigation, DHPP requested the conversion of his temporary detention into preventive detention. The case was forwarded to the Public Prosecutor's Office, which accepted the arrest request.

"Lucas killed the victims, robbed them and fled. There was no self-defense in the opinion of the police. The same understanding is that of the Public Ministry and Justice, which accepted the police's request and the Prosecutor's agreement for preventive detention", declared the delegate Soares. Rosseti will remain in prison until his case is judged.

Oscar Freire's crime took place in August, when the bodies of Bozola and Rezende were found in the first victim's apartment. Rosseti fled to Sertãozinho (SP) and was later found by the police. The Scientific Police reconstructed the entire crime scene and came to the conclusion that Rosseti murdered the model and the system analyst due to an argument regarding his stay in Bozola's apartment.

For the police, Lucas Rosseti drugged the victims before killing them. Images of him alongside Murilo and Bozola in a pizzeria also weigh against the accused. Other images show the three inside a gay nightclub. If the victims were in fact drugged, only the reports from the Legal Medical Institute (IML) will indicate this.
