Scientists test injection that could be the new Viagra

A group of scientists from Denmark reported that they may have found a therapy that could, in the future, replace Viagra. The novelty is an injection of stem cells at the base of the penis capable of reinvigorating nerves and blood vessels and even regenerating lost tissue – something Viagra has never achieved. Another result observed in the study is that the method also appeared to increase the size of the penis. Scientists carried out experiments on eight men. To do so, fat cells were removed from each participant's abdomen and then the professionals identified the stem cells, which were later injected into the penis. The team hopes that stem cell therapy can also be used to help men who suffer from erectile dysfunction caused by aging, as well as health conditions such as heart disease. The effectiveness of the new treatment, however, still needs to be proven and scientists want to understand the long-term effects of the procedure. With information from Catraca Livre
