Middle Eastern cinemas censor gay kiss in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

The film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is already making waves around the world, mainly because of a gay kiss scene that takes place in the film. In some countries, such as those in the Middle East, the scene is being censored.

The website The Hollywood Reporter reported that some viewers went to see the film in Dubai cinemas, and stated that the gay kiss scene was heavily cut from the film.

The Emirates are still part of a list of more than 50 countries that consider homosexuality a serious crime, even though they are closer to Western reality.
