Ciro Gomes responds to Bolsonaro and says: “If my 2-year-old son plays with dolls, I’ll play along”

The candidate for the presidency of the Republic Ciro Gomes (PDT) spoke out about the homophobic speech made by Jair Bolsonaro (PSL) during a hearing in Jornal Nacional last Tuesday, 29. Commenting on the infamous “gay kit”, a fallacy created by Bolsonaro and by conservatives on the Brazilian right, Ciro highlighted that this is “great nonsense”. “An immense nonsense that predisposes stigma against people who, just because of a different sexual orientation [than heterosexual], love differently than traditional. What do we have with this?”, stated the candidate to Planalto. “I have a son who is two years and eight months old, and if he plays with the doll, I play along. What is the problem? Or does anyone think that someone will affirm their sexual orientation because of a toy? This is outrageous ignorance”, added Ciro Gomes. After the repercussion of Jair Bolsonaro's speech about the “gay kit”, the Federal Government itself spoke out denying the candidate's speech.
