Columnist Michael Musto, from the newspaper Village Voice, pulled Ellen Page, 21, out of the closet.
According to him, the “Juno” actress does not have a boyfriend and went to the Oscar ceremony with her mother, “which for gay people means 100% certainty”. The journalist also referred to a website that said Page was an “open lesbian”.
Soon, the actress will star alongside Olivia Thrillby, her co-star in “Juno”, in the film “Jack and Diane”. The production tells the story of two young teenagers who meet in New York and spend the whole night kissing. But when Jack finds out that Diane is leaving the country in a week, things get complicated.
Dyke or not, Ellen Page is already one of Hollywood's promises. Her role in “Juno” won over North American critics and led to her receiving a nomination for best actress at this year's Oscars. The film, showing in Brazil, also received three other nominations, with screenwriter Diablo Cody winning the statuette for best original screenplay.
