United States Synod Committee prepares to welcome LGBTQ+ faithful

The US Synod Committee is preparing to welcome LGBTQ+ believers to discuss faith in an innovative attempt at inclusion. This unprecedented movement aligns with the church's objective of being closer to its faithful public, regardless of individual differences.

As announced by Reverend James Martin, the reflection groups called Circles of Listening will be led by the synodists of the United States and will be attended by LGBTQ+ believers. The intention behind these listening circles is to listen to the particular experiences and needs of this audience, so that they can be better supported and recognized within the Christian faith.

These listening circles, which will be conducted in the parish, are not happening without some resistance. Some conservative factions within the church are hesitant to accept such a degree of inclusion, but much of the church has supported this movement through dialogue and understanding.
