A drag queens Conchita Wurst, 29 years old, who gained international recognition in 2014 after winning the musical competition Eurovision, made public his positive serology for HIV in a publication on Instagram.
The Austrian vented on her profile on the digital platform last Sunday night, the 15th, that she was being blackmailed by a former partner, aware of her HIV status and, therefore, decided to speak about the matter herself.
"I didn't want to go public with it for a number of reasons," he explained. "The most important thing is my family, who knows everything and has supported me unconditionally since day one (…). Secondly, it is information that I believe is relevant mainly for people with whom I may have sexual contact."
"I have been HIV positive for many years. This is actually irrelevant to the public, but an ex-boyfriend is threatening to release this private information and I will not give anyone the right to scare me or affect my life," wrote Conchita .
