Check out an interview with Felipe Zabloski, elected Mister Brazil Diversity 2012

Last Monday (10) Felipe Zabloski from Santa Catarina was elected Mister Brasil Diversity. The young man defeated 19 other candidates in the grand final held at Teatro Gazeta, in São Paulo.

Felipe is 25 years old and 4 months ago he moved from Floripa to São Miguel do Oeste, in the interior of the state of Santa Catarina.

The new Mister studies journalism and has plans to present a TV show about health and well-being. For those who are excited about the boy, he has been in a relationship for over a year.

Below, check out the interview that Felipe gave to The Cape.

How was your relationship with the other candidates? Did you make friends?
I made several friends. In fact, before the competition started, I had already added some candidates on Facebook and we have been talking ever since. I believe I made about 8 friends!

But there was no stress during the two days you spent together in São Paulo?
Oh, there's always some stress, especially when it's a competition. Little groups are formed, according to people's affinities, but everything is very healthy.

Did you think you were going to win?
Look, honestly no. I was very calm, I tried not to create high expectations. I had already seen photos of the boys on the internet, there were several very beautiful ones, which surprised me even more in person. But really, first place was a surprise for me.

Did you root for someone?
I thought that Lucas Linutti, from Sergipe, who came second, would come first. He has an incredible body and a beautiful face.

As Mister Brasil Diversidade, how do you think you can contribute to society throughout this year?
In addition to participating in parties and events, I believe that raising the flag for this year's contest theme, "Equal Civil Marriage", is very important. I speak from experience. I had a six-year relationship that ended in a not very nice way, which resulted in financial losses. So having your civil rights guaranteed, as well as straight people, is very important.

Do you intend to present a TV show?
Yes. I'm looking for sponsors to present a program about health and well-being on local television, here in Santa Catarina.

Do you date?
I've been in a relationship for over a year, and we've been living together for 4 months. We lived in very distant cities and decided to stay together.

Do you intend to get married?
If equal civil marriage is approved, we want it. Our city is very close to the border with Argentina, and we closely follow all the movement around gay marriage that has been going on there. But if the wedding doesn't happen, we'll sign the stable union.

Within the gay world, which clan would you fit into? Or does it not exist for you?
It's complicated to label, I think one of Mister Brasil Diversity's points is precisely to put an end to stereotypes. When you include yourself in a segment, you end up isolating yourself from others. I feel like gays have a lot of prejudice among them. The healthy magic boy is respected, whereas the drag queen, the transvestite, the boys who are not so beautiful, the emos, are not. I believe we have to demystify this.

What message do you leave for gays in Brazil?
It's time for us to mobilize. We are in an election year. We have to choose representatives who fight for our rights, to strengthen the class. There are politicians who fight for various segments of society, but few do anything for homosexuals. It's time to put your hand on your conscience and know how to choose.
