Against prejudice, Império de Casa Verde will have a wing made up of LGBTs

The biggest popular festival in the world, carnival is a cry for freedom and joy. Every year, the date attracts millions of tourists who come to the country to celebrate and celebrate the symbolism of the event. Plural, just like “modern times”, samba schools, a symbol of this festival, are, little by little, joining the cry for no prejudice and intolerance towards sexual diversity. In an unprecedented feat, the São Paulo association, Império de Casa Verde, will take part in the 2018 parade with a wing made up of LGBTs and supporters of the cause. The school joined the “Carnival is Joy, Say No to LGBTphobia” campaign, an initiative of the LGBT Policy Coordination of the Municipal Secretariat for Human Rights and Citizenship (SMDHC). The campaign is part of the City Hall's “São Paulo com ReSPeito” Project, which aims to reduce discrimination in samba schools and carnival. Next Saturday, the 13th, Império will celebrate the campaign on the school grounds, with members of the community, in partnership with the Brazilian LGBT Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. Those present at the event celebrated to the rhythm of the association's plot for this year “The people: the royal nobility”. WHEN AND WHERE “Carnival is joy, say no to LGBTphobia” Date: January 13th Time: From 23:30 pm Location: Quadra da Império de Casa Verde – Avenida Engenheiro Caetano Álvares, 2042 – Casa Verde – SP
