This week, the Ministry of Health published new guidelines and specific instructions for HIV-positive people undergoing treatment to protect themselves from the coronavirus pandemic.
Released last Tuesday (17), the text asks doctors to prescribe antiretrovirals to their patients every three months, intensifying the flow of these medications from health services.
Medical consultations, forms and prescriptions must now be valid for 90 days, if the patient's clinical conditions allow.
For HIV-positive people, taking the flu and pneumococcal vaccine is essential, as it has the effect of reducing flu and respiratory complications.
PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) users can take the medication every four months, depending on its availability in each state.
